Im grateful to have a connection to Armour rattery who had the first snowflakes pop up in late 2018 from 2 litters, an American blue doe, a russian blue doe and a blk self buck. They are the potential founders of the gene in the USA.
I believe this snowflake gene is different from the one in Europe, as I have learnt spotting (snowflakes) on the back of American snowflakes is very common. Most visual snowflakes will show well by 6 months and continue to improve as they age. Some look well splashed with snowflaking before 6 months, and some as late as 12 months.
The standard sized rats in this line are massive! Males reaching 2lbs is common. There is dwarf sized also! Colors are blk, russian blue and american blue. Velveteens and short haired.
Nautica dwarf sized female
I will be adding more info to this page and pictures of snowflakes and their development
