The Dapple project
The Dapples were developed in my rattery while I was working with a rare variety from the USA called snowflake. I was originally referring to them as my snowflake project as very early on I could see that they were not developing as snowflakes do and I wasn’t comfortable labeling them as something they were not.
After 6 generations born in my home, the name was officially changed to Dapple.
American blue and black are my preferred colors for the variety, however charcoal, mink and russian blue has been seen in earlier generations.
The males in this line are massive, typically weighing 2lbs! The females often look like males and some have reached close to 700grams! They have beautiful structure with nice thick heads/muzzles and bodies.
Dapples come in both standard sized and dwarf. The dwarfs of course are larger heavier sized dwarfs usually
Dapples often have beautiful blue grey eyes and stand out in low light. This is a trait that has carried on throughout the generations going back to a GBR torti dwarf added in before they came to Canada as possible snowflakes
I have sent Dapples to a few breeders in Canada, the USA and all the way to China!
